New! Newspaper - The Yakima Herald-Republic in Yakima, Washington is looking for a hard-working reporting intern to work full-time for the summer. This is a paid internship that runs from June until late August, with flexibility of dates based on your schedule. Entry-level duties will consist of writing news and feature stories. Applicants who are recent college graduates are preferred. Spanish-language skills are a must. If no suitable graduates are available, we will consider a junior or senior currently working toward a college degree. Please submit a cover letter explaining why you’re interested in the Herald-Republic, what you can contribute and what you hope to learn, as well as available dates; a resume, up to 10 work samples and a list of three references. Successful candidates will work as researcher-reporters for FairWarning, a nonprofit online publication focused on safety and health, and related issues of government and corporate accountability. New! Newspaper - Main Justice, an online news source focusing on the Department of Justice, has an immediate opening for an intern. Interns have the opportunity to cover events with the Attorney General, attend congressional, hearings and write stories on the Justice Department. The internship is unpaid.
