SPRING 2011 ADVISEMENT COMING – Spring 2011 advisement will start Monday, September 20. If you plan on attending CSUN during the spring semester, then you must see an adviser. Advisement is required in order to register for classes. See the list of advisers on the table outside the Journalism Department office to determine who your adviser is and when his/her office hours are offered. Come by MZ 210 on the day you are going to see your adviser to pick up your file and advisement form. The office does not make appointments and office hours are walk-in, based on a first-come, first-serve basis.

READING ROOM - The Reading Room will be closed for one month (August 24 – September 24). Please check the computer labs on the third floor, as they will be open during the semester.

JOURNALISM OPPORUNITIES CONFERENCE: CCNMA Latino Journalist's of California is hosting its 32nd annual Journalism Opportunities Conference Oct. 14-15, 2010 at the USC Davidson Conference Center in Los Angeles. During the conference attendees will have the opportunity to interview with recruiters for internships and full-time jobs and will also assist multimedia trainings and other workshops. This conference is open to everyone regardless of race or ethnicity. The Job Fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Registration opens at 9 a.m. on both days. Pre-registration fees are $50 for students and $75 for professionals who are members of CCNMA, NAHJ, NAJA, NLGJA, AAJA or BJASC, $60 for non-member students and $85 for non-member professionals. The pre-registration deadline is September 13.
