Sports - The Association for Women in Sports Media has openings for their internship/scholarship program.The top applicants in public relations, broadcast, writing and copy editing will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship and will receive a paid trip to the AWSM Convention Charlotte. All other students in the AWSM internship will receive a $500 scholarship. Applicants must be full-time female students. Interested candidates must submit an essay of 750 words or less describing your most memorable experience in sports or sports media, a pdf of a one-page résumé, three references with contact information, a pdf of one letter of recommendation from a professor, advisor, editor, producer or other supervisor who is familiar with your work, a maximum of five samples of your work: clips, editing examples, headlines, layout, press releases, video or audio tapes. New! Multimedia - The E.W. Scripps is offering a fellowship program. Students will have the opportunity to work in the Scripps Newspaper and its fourteen markets across the U.S. Students will be able to work as multimedia journalists, online producers, web developers, web design/user experience specialists and copy editors/page designers. Interested candidates must  be undergraduate students pursuing a degree in journalism, computer science, or a related field and have basic computer skills. Students interested in multimedia and online producers must have strong writing, videography and/or still photography skills. Students interested in web development must have Proficiency in HTML/XHTML and CSS. Those interested in the copy editor/page designer must have proficiency in InDesign, copy editing and headline writing. The fellowship runs for 24 weeks. to apply visit SCRIPPS.

New! Newspaper - Our weekly Newspaper, which covers the African American communities in Los Angeles and  Antelope valley, is seeking interns to work in their Los Angeles office. Interns will have the opportunity to write news and feature stories, cover press conferences, teleconferences and will learn how to follow beats. Interns will also have the opportunity to write opinion pieces of their interest for their section The Voice, which targets 18-30 year-old group. New! Newspaper -  The Boston Globe is looking for interns for their Summer 2011 program. Some interns will work in metro on general assignments. Other interns are assigned to sports, living/arts and business. Additional intern positions in the photography, graphics department and on the copy desk are available. Undergraduate and graduate students who have no experience as professional reporters can apply. Applicants must have a driver¹s license and be able to type at least 30 words a minute. Summer interns work as full-time employees for twelve weeks, between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The intern will attend weekly meetings with editors and staff members on a range of issues and topics pertaining to journalism. The application deadline is Nov. 1, 2010.
