Journalism Department Scholarships - The deadline to apply for departmental scholarships is Thursday, Nov. 18, by 4 p.m. Please see the scholarships section for more information.
Social Justice and the Media - The Journalism Department announces a new course, offered for the first time during Spring 2011, J.495SJM Social Justice and the Media. J.495SJM will meet on Tuesdays from 4-6:45 p.m. in MZ 211. This course gives students practical experience in covering social justice issues in our surrounding communities through audio podcast reporting, using Rev. James Lawson's lecture series Civic Discourse and Soical Change as a springboard. Students' multimedia work will be considered for dissemination through the CSUN student media. To enroll in the class, students need to have upper-division or graduate standing. For a permission number, come to the Journalism Department office, MZ 210.
Documentary Screening - The CSUN chapter of Radio Television Digital News Association is having a screening of the documentary OxyContin Express. The OxyContin Express is a gritty, mesmerizing look into the life of pain pills in Floria and the Appalachians. The documentary will take place Wednesday, Nov 17 at 5:15 pm in MZ Room 211.
