Editorial Coordinator – A marketing services company in the consumer electronics industry is seeking an editorial coordinator to assist at the company. While the position will cover many duties within the company, a majority of the time will be spent working with a car stereo trade magazine that the company is partnered with. The position is located in downtown Los Angeles, with occasional trips to the magazine’s Torrance office. Duties include writing stories and articles online and for print, editing articles from freelancers, placing in templates for designers, performing surveys and writing articles based on results, and maintaining and communicating editorial schedule. Company specific duties include maintaining schedule, ensuring that all projects are consistently moving forward, helping to develop new marketing ideas, adding them to the schedule and implementing, billing and follow-up, managing client email newsletters, and helping with social network presence. Qualifications for the job include strong writing, editing, and grammatical skills, strong scheduling and time management skills (ability to keep everyone on time and manage own work flow), strong organizational skills, and the ability to “take ownership” of tasks and work independently. Applicants should know (or be able to quickly learn) Adobe InCopy, Microsoft Word Suite, Quickbooks, some HTML, basic photo resizing in Photoshop, and AP Style journalism. Hours are between 30 and 40 hours per week with a compensation of $2,000 - $2,500 per month based on experience.
