Public Relations / Social Media - Productivity PR, located in Woodland Hills, has an immediate opening for an intern to gain real world experience publicizing consumer products and fitness/lifestyle services. Interns will have the opportunity to gain practical hands-on experience pitching reporters, researching and building media listings, coordinating editorial coverage results, developing pitch letters and press releases, utilizing social media (Facebook & Twitter) to generate commercial exposure, and working with programs like the Cision database. Public Relations - 42West is currently seeking interns to help with the Hispanic marketing arm of their division. The company conducts Hispanic marketing campaigns on behalf of its clients’ films, and works with a number of the major studios. Internship requirements include performing research on various films and creating targeted databases for outreach, serving as the primary liaison between film accounts and college students in the New York Tri-State area, assisting with promotional mailings of screening invites and promotional items, setting retail promotions with third party locations, and proficiency in Spanish reading, writing, and conversation. Multimedia – The Marist in Manhattan Program, located in New York City, is offering a full-time, semester-long study for undergraduate students during the fall and spring semesters. Students are enrolled in a 400+ hour internship and take two online courses each worth three units. Internships will commit students to spending four days of full-time work each week for 12 or more weeks in a professional environment. Sites are selected from leading media companies where students will be welcomed and challenged. Previous internship experience is helpful, but not critical for success in media internships. Students of all majors who aspire to careers in media and public are encouraged to apply. Students with a strong GPA and high levels of motivation and independence can excel in the program and bring the success back to their campuses.
