Writing / Editing - CSUN's Web Portal department is seeking an intern. This is a writing/editing intern position where the student assists in writing the pieces in the portal. Interns will work with Katherine Wang, main web portal writer. Wang is offering positions for this coming spring and would like interested students to submit two writing samples and candidates may need to take a writing test. If you have are interested, contact Katherine Wang at

Broadcast – The summer internship program at WEIU-TV is an opportunity to work full-time to prepare, create and deliver the news on an award-winning newscast in the 84th television market. The internship is paid and provides free apartment housing, weekly cash stipend, a two-week intensive training session in May, experience working in an all-Avid news environment, opportunities to work on-air through August, training alongside a veteran news director, a great professional development opportunity and a chance to build your resume portfolio. Positions available in the internship program include news anchor, weather anchor, sports anchor, reporter, writer, producer, videographer, editor, and assignment editor. Judicial – The Department of Political Science has announced that applications are now available for the spring 2012 Judicial Internship Program. This is a unique program that pairs individual students with Superior Court Judges in the San Fernando Valley (Chatsworth, San Fernando, and Van Nuys, Santa Clarita Valley, or Lancaster). It provides the opportunity for students to observe court proceedings and learn about the law and the judicial process. Students receive three units of credit for the course and are required to do a minimum of 120 hours of observation in the courts including time spent talking and working with the judge to which they are assigned. The course is primarily intended for students thinking about a career in law. A Minimum GPA of 3.0 and a statement of interest in the law are required. Sports Writing - The Asian American Journalists Association is partnering again with the Sports Journalism Institute to host another internship for the summer of 2012. Highlights of the program include a crash course in sports journalism at the Poynter Institute from June 1-8, where instruction will come from working professionals, and expenses will be paid for, professional experience at a paid internship in the sports department of a daily newspaper, and a $500 scholarship upon successful completion of the program for students returning to college.
