Public Relations – BET Corporate Communications is responsible for serving as the primary liaison between BET Networks and all members of the media. Through the use of strategic public relations activity, this department shapes public perception and manages the reputation of the network. Publicity efforts surrounding original and music programming, corporate visibility, mega-specials, international, and public affairs are just a few of the areas this department oversees. Interns will research media coverage and create press clippings, research media contacts, maintain databases, compile and distribute screener press kits, draft and edit press materials, participate in brainstorming sessions, and assist on site with local events. Interns should be self-starters with the ability to work independently, have strong interest in communications, and possess creativity. Being research and Web savvy is a plus. The interns should be available for the spring 2012 semester and available to work in Los Angeles. Interns must receive academic credit, be an undergraduate or a graduate student, and be available to work approximately 15 hours per week.
