Public Relations - Boutique PR Agency specializes in health and fitness including upscale health clubs, spas, and celebrity authors, is seeking one to two interns with PR experience to assist in the agency’s Sherman Oaks office. Applicants should have excellent writing skills for press releases, be very well organized, have the ability to maintain and update a media contacts database, and have the ability to multitask. Applicants must also be savvy with social media networking to maintain Twitter and Facebook accounts and the company Website. Interns must be "go-getters" with exceptional work ethic and must possess creative, dynamic, devoted, and dedicated personalities. Public Relations / Marketing / Communications – The American Lung Association in California is looking for a spring intern to work towards the March 31, 2012, Fight for Air Climb event. The primary responsibility of the intern is to support marketing and communications functions of the development department in producing the fifth annual Fight for Air Climb and inaugural Distance Swim Challenge. Responsibilities include writing and distributing press releases and media alerts, conducting outreach to secure media sponsorship, assisting in managing/monitoring social media presence, and performing other duties as assigned. Some cold calling is required. The intern’s work schedule is flexible based on personal schedule and the American Lung Association office hours (M-F 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.), but the intern should be available for at least 8 – 10 hours per week. Some work can be done remotely. Applicants must be a non-smoker with prior work experience. Strong writing and communication skills are desirable, and applicants should be detail oriented, mature, and personable.
