Public Relations - DRS and Associates is a full-service advertising and public relations firm with a main client focus on high-end, luxury home and lifestyle products. The company works with some of the world's most extravagant and highly styled or designed products available. The internship is available for a dynamic individual who has the drive and motivation to not only apply the skills obtained at school, learn in a real-life setting, apply public relations and social media tactics to reach our clients’ target demographics and learn about our clients’ industries.  Duties include general office work, preparation and fulfillment of press kits and mailings, research, data entry, press-clippings, writing, social media, interviewing, and contact with media professionals. In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to take on our "industry news" outreach project with our media contacts. The intern will apply their public relations, writing and communication skills to successfully obtain press coverage in industry and trade publications. Broadcast - NBC Universal will offer four students the opportunity to become NBC Fellows and join one of the following NBC Programs for summer 2012 as interns: The Today Show, Nightly News with Brian Williams, Primetime NBC's own Dateline, MSNBC, RockCenter, or CNBC. The selected students will be provided a stipend in the amount of $500 a week for 10 weeks to live in New York City, totaling $5,000 for each student. The deadline to apply is March 9, 2012. Political - Sponsored by The Fund for American Studies, the Institute on Political Journalism in Washington, DC is now accepting applications for an eight week, summer media internship at Georgetown University. Program areas include politics, public policy, economics, journalism, communications, public relations, business, government affairs, nonprofit, and community service. In addition to an internship and classes, the program provides housing in furnished, on-campus apartments, planned social activities, professional development seminars, and numerous opportunities for networking. The final application deadline for the summer 2012 Institute on Political Journalism in Washington, DC is coming up on March 7. Scholarship funding is available.
