Social Media – NBCLA.com is currently accepting applications for summer interns for its Web team. This is an unpaid position. Applicants must be receiving college course credit to be considered for the position. Interns should be available 30 – 40 hours per week, depending on schedule. This internship is open to college level juniors, seniors and graduate students. The NBCLA.com Web intern should have a passion for news and the Internet. The student will be working with veteran Web journalists to find sources, conduct interviews, compile research, write articles, build galleries, edit video and assist with social media and editorial planning. Mastery of print writing is a must. Applicants should be proficient with AP style, a consumer of news online and on air, and excellent with news judgment. Applicants should also have knowledge of the LA market, community, cultural and entertainment venues, knowledge of Web development tools and social media, and knowledge of image editing software.
