Internship Opportunities October 15 - October 19

Sports - Jyra International, a Los Angeles-based media and information company, is accepting applications for a Spring 2012 intern who must receive college credit for the internship. Jyra International provides content both to television and online news organizations. The objective of the internship program is to enhance students’ knowledge of the journalism industry. The company’s internship is designed to give students experiences that complement their academic endeavors. The program provides interns with an opportunity to participate in the daily operations of the company. A significant portion of the intern’s experience will be participation in covering sports stories. Therefore, this internship is suited for a student who has an understanding of a variety of sports rules and current events. Please provide all of the following in your email or in an attachment to your email: a resume, written proof of enrollment in a college credit internship course, a statement about any sports background, a list of five major sports and a significant, current event happening in each, what you would provide to the company as an intern, information about your work ethic, future career goals, and availability. Multimedia / Graphics / Writing / Photography – The Courier-Journal is searching for summer interns to be storytellers in Kentucky. Interns will be sorted by multimedia, designers, reporters/editors, and photographers. Interns will do various tasks for each internship category. Students must have completed one year of college, but students who have completed undergraduate work are also accepted. Preference is given to more advanced students. Children of employees of The Courier-Journal are eligible but receive no preferential treatment. Interns report to work as soon as convenient after the close of the spring semester and work for 12 weeks.  Each work week is 40 hours, but the job is often on an irregular schedule.
