Reporter - The Oakland Tribune is seeking an experienced education reporter to cover the 36,000-student Oakland Unified School District. The candidate must have strong writing skills, a nose for news and be able to spot trends. This reporter should be able to write enterprise stories as well as daily news stories and blog for print and the Web. Candidates must be skilled in digital media, including Twitter and Facebook, and be able to work on breaking news stories, sometimes as part of a team of reporters at Bay Area News Group, which includes the Oakland Tribune, Contra Costa Times and San Jose Mercury News. Knowledge in AP style is preferred.
