In addition to great work experience, the winners of these internships receive $2,500 stipends from the Chicago Chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association. Broadcast - Samm Brown, talk show host of Pacifica Radio KPFK is seeking interns to work on the radio show Samm Brown's "FOR THE RECORD” under the supervision of Samm Brown and Natoma Keir. This internship is for a minimum of six months for three Thursdays a month from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The show goes on the air live at 8 p.m. Responsibilities include answering phones, interviewing callers and posting caller information on host’s computer screen, and assisting the engineer in creating CD copies and video for YouTube and UStream. Applicants must be punctual and have good office skills. Social media skills are a plus. And interest in radio or the entertainment business is helpful. An orientation is available with the operations director at KPFK which could lead to a staff position. Broadcast - The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Foundation is offering full-time internships for eight weeks in Los Angeles, providing hands-on exposure to all facets of the television industry.
