Web Writer Student Assistant - The Student Marketing & Communications team is looking for writers with a strong interest in Web content, online journalism and new media. This is an ideal opportunity for journalism, communications or English majors who want to write in a professional setting and gain knowledge of journalistic Web standards, information architecture and content management systems. Some of the duties include ensuring that editorial content is written and presented in a format that meets Web usability standards and is consistent with the university’s writing and design guidelines, guiding representatives from various departments as they prepare to rewrite, organize, rebrand and redesign their Websites, attending monthly meetings with the writing team and researching and writing student-focused articles for the Student Affairs Website. Students should have excellent writing and editing skills, be effective communicators and creative thinkers. Graduate students with some writing experience are preferred, but all students are encouraged to apply. Students will be compensated $10-15/hour at 20 hours per week. Students should be available to work throughout the calendar year, including the summer months. Master Control Supervisor - KMPH Fox 26 and KFRE CW 59 in Fresno are accepting applications to fill the position of Master Control Supervisor. Responsibilities will include scheduling and supervising daily Master Control functions, developing and maintaining operating procedures, training and evaluating Master Control staff members and providing technical support for the KMPH 10 O'clock News. This is a full-time position and salary is based on experience. Applicants must have Master Control experience in an automated control room environment. Prior supervisory experience is preferred. Technical Director – CBS is looking for a Technical Director at its Chicago station to provide technical support and direction utilizing Sony's ELC automation system for all live and recorded studio-based broadcasts, rehearsals and offsite remote broadcasts for WBBM-TV. The Technical Director is responsible for providing technical direction to editorial staff and the technical crew and acting as a liaison between engineering and production. Applicants must have proven leadership skills, strong production background, clear communication skills and the ability to thrive under deadline pressure.
