Reporting - Juniors and seniors studying print, online, broadcast and photo journalism are invited to apply for a semester-long reporting internship in Washington and a post-graduate, multimedia fellowship. Semester in Washington pays a stipend and provides free housing in furnished apartments. Interns report for the Web-based Scripps Howard Foundation Wire and may also report for campus, hometown or other news organizations. Interns work with an experienced Washington editor to choose, report, write and edit multimedia stories using social media, blogs, videos and slideshows. Tours of Washington journalism and government institutions and guest speakers are part of the program. The fall 2013 (Sept. 4 to Dec. 10) stipend is $2,660, plus free housing. The application deadline is March 15, 2013. To apply, visit: http://shfwire.com/node/5464. The foundation supports an intern who reports for the Hispanic Link News Service. The term, application deadline, pay and housing are the same. Students may apply to both programs. Download the Hispanic Link application form http://shfwire.com/node/6889.
