News Producer – KCRA is searching for a news producer to include input on daily news coverage, line producing and writing. The producer will also work closely with the technical and marketing teams. The job requires a creative person who understands how to put a newscast together based on the needs and expectations of our viewers. They must communicate clearly, work well with others and be effective under the pressures of a live television newscast. In addition, candidates must be Web savvy and will be responsible for producing content for KCRA.com. Applicants should have experience with tight deadlines covering breaking news and hard news. Editor/ Publisher – Chicago Reporter, an award-winning investigative publication with a focus on race and poverty, is looking to hire and editor/publisher. The editor will develop the editorial vision and direction for the publication and provide oversight of senior editors, as well as leadership of all editorial operations. The editor will also hire, recruit, plan the budget, serve as the spokesperson for the media, and lead fundraising activities. The candidate must have a minimum of 10 years experience in journalism with knowledge and experience in the digital world. A demonstrated interest in investigative reporting is important. Special consideration will go to candidates who know Chicago and its neighborhoods, issues, history, politics and racial dynamics.
