Reporter - The Bradenton Herald is looking for someone to cover urban affairs. The reporter will cover the City of Bradenton, Palmetto and Manatee County's three island cities -- Anna Maria, Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach government and community news. Bradenton is located between Tampa and Sarasota. Salary would be between $35,000 and $40,000, depending on experience or potential. Deputy White House Editor – Politico in Arlington, Va. is looking for a fast deputy editor for White House coverage. This is a great job for someone with editing experience who thrives in a dynamic newsroom. All candidates must be sharp writers with a sophisticated understanding of Washington and politics. The ideal candidate is energetic and well-organized, able to coordinate fast-moving news stories and work closely with reporters to translate the day’s events into high-impact coverage. Reporting experience preferred. Experience editing White House coverage is a plus, but not a must. Assistant Editor - The News You Can Use section of U.S. News & World Report—which includes Money and Health + Wellness, seeks a motivated, full-time assistant editor based in the Washington, D.C., office. The primary duty of the assistant editor is to help plan, assign, and edit online content for the NYCU channel of usnews.com, including consumer-focused stories, blog posts and multimedia content. This position does not involve breaking news coverage, and could include a limited amount of Web production. The assistant editor will work closely with the editors, reporters, and Web producer and will also manage relationships with freelance bloggers and writers. In addition to daily editing, this person will help edit content for online launches of U.S. News’s hallmark rankings, including Best Jobs, Best Mutual Funds and ETFs, Best Diets, and Top Recommended Health Products. Applicants should have proven editing skills, strong editorial judgment, working knowledge and interest in U.S. News’s rankings projects, strong SEO understanding and experience, social media skills, and a college degree or the equivalent.
