Journalism Department Seeks Student Assistants - The Journalism Department is looking for reliable students to assist in the office. Journalism Major desired. Freelance Web Reporter – KTLA 5 is searching for a freelance Web reporter to present KTLA news content in Spanish across multiple platforms. The candidate will be reporting, writing and editing news stories in Spanish. The reporter will also be posting video clips to digital platforms and sharing content through social media. Knowledge of Final Cut Pro and WordPress is essential. Applicants must be fluent in both Spanish and English. Related experience through an internship, classroom study or campus news program is a plus. Candidates must have exceptional oral and written communication skills in both Spanish and English. Board Operator – Radio Iran (KIRN 670 AM) is looking for a board operator to perform activities in the radio studio and control room to ensure technical quality of sound for programs originating in the studio from syndicates or from remote pickup points. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent along with six months of experience or training in the field. The board operator is responsible for regulating the timing of programs, operating syndicated programming and playing commercials, providing off-air support of commercial production, dubbing music, performing on-air announcements, and taking transmitter readings. Applicants must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays and must be bilingual in English and Farsi. Senior Promotions Producer/Editor - KCRA 3/KQCA My58, Sacramento's strongest duopoly, has an immediate opening for a highly creative Senior Promotions Producer/Editor who will focus heavily on news and weather image with involvement in topical, community and entertainment promotion. Candidates must be creative thinkers with strong eyes for layout and design. The job responsibilities include producing and editing compelling on-air promos and image campaigns from start to finish that generate viewer interest to increase brand awareness and ratings, creating, updating and enhancing KCRA 3 on-air image, topical and entertainment promos and graphics, and working on promotion campaigns as needed. This is a full-time position in Sacramento. Applicants should have two to five years of experience producing and editing on-air promos. Strong skills and experience in Non-Linear Editing, After Effects and Photoshop are required along with a complete understanding of the promo process from beginning to completion. The job requires working efficiently under time constraints with the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel.
