Public Relations - HKA, Inc. Marketing Communications is looking for interns for the summer session.  We welcome applicants with the availability and interest to potentially continue through the end of the fall semester.  Candidates should be motivated, detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills. Interns will assist HKA’s professional staff with tasks such as researching, compiling media lists, pitching story ideas to media, media monitoring and archiving stories, writing press releases, and handling social media. Public Relations - KWL Management is offering a communications and events internship for summer 2013. KWL Management is a full-service home for talent, capable of providing holistic thinking, infrastructure and expertise to talent across all areas of their career. The vision and goal is to build a platform for managers and talent –“plug in and power up.” The platform represents the importance of holistic management and includes General Management, Touring & Production, Product Management, Brand 3rd Party Partnerships, A&R,Online & Digital, Licensing, Film & TV and Philanthropy. This internship is based in Los Angeles, Caif., working with the Senior Director of Communications and Event Management at KWL. All other company staff is located on the East Coast, so this position will allow for an array of hands on involvement with all facets of the company’s communications and event planning efforts.  There's no 'average day' which makes it exciting, but in general, the intern will help to conduct media research, build press lists, formulate pitches, track company and client coverage, draft blurbs and social media posts/tweets, plan and staff company events and maintain online pages. Desired qualifications include strong organizational skills,  computer and social media savvy, experience working in entertainment and interfacing with talent, knowledge of the music industry, pop-culture and events, the ability to manage multiple projects and assignments at one time, strong communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
