We are looking for a motivated, assertive intern to assist with our ongoing accounts during the Spring 2014 semester. This is a unique unpaid opportunity for individuals looking to gain insight and knowledge in PR, Marketing and Branding. Responsibilities of the position will include: researching and developing daily content for social media, assisting with the creation of press releases, client biographies and other marketing materials, researching and compiling media contacts through Cision, pitching clients to media, following up through email and phone, assisting with preparation and setup of client events as needed and participating in strategizing and brainstorming sessions. The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications: strong writing and communication skills, strong telephone skills, the ability to take direction and work in a flexible, fast-paced environment, intimate familiarity with Apple technology, familiarity with social media platforms (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, etc.), have or be in the process of earning a degree in Public Relations, Communications or other relevant majors, experience in Public Relations, familiarity with Cision and working knowledge of Wordpress/HTML, and a strong desire to work in Entertainment. Journalism - CRI (China Radio International) is a state-run radio station broadcasting to global audience. CRI aims to introduce China to the world, as well as introduce the world to China. Our company, Guoguangchuancheng (Beijing) Education and Technology Co., Ltd, is one of the major industries of China Radio International in the area of education, and it is also the platform that deeply combined state-level foreign media with cultural and educational industry. Currently, we are authorized by CRI to hold the CRI Cup International High School Students' Multi-lingual Digital Storytelling Competition, and we need foreign interns to work in Chinese schools as facilitators. According to the scale of CRI Cup, we need about 100 interns each year and hope to recruit interns from high-esteemed universities around the world. Through this program, students will be offered unique opportunities to come to China for a three-month internship. During the program, interns will get one-week professional training with CRI bilingual experts and three-month unforgettable teaching experience in top middle or high schools in China. Journalism - College students interested in sports journalism can get specialized training, a paid sports news internship, a scholarship and industry contacts through the 2014 Sports Journalism Institute (SJI). The program combines an intensive week of instruction from top professionals with an eight-week paid internship at a print, digital or electronic media outlet. Upon completion of the program, college students can receive a $500 scholarship. The 2014 program starts with the training sessions taught by Poynter Institute faculty May 30 to June 7 at the University of Missouri at Columbia, followed by the internships. Applications must be submitted to AAJA by November 8, 2013. Journalism – The Scripps Howard Foundation is looking for curious, energetic college juniors and seniors studying journalism to report from Washington during the spring and summer terms. Interns are paid a stipend and provided free housing in furnished apartments. Interns will find, report and write stories for the Web-based Scripps Howard Foundation Wire, take photos, create slide shows and shoot and edit video. Semester in Washington takes six interns in the 14-week spring term and six in the 10-week summer term. Applicants with multimedia experience will be given preference. A seventh intern works for the Hispanic Link News Service in the spring and fall. Applicants should be juniors or seniors with previous internship experience or extensive work with student media.
