The reports are all in Italian but the intern is not required to speak or write Italian.. The intern will be responsible to assist in stories searching, in edition, to work as production assistant and to assist during interviews. Print Internship: Company: San Fernando Valley Business Journal

Type of internship: Print, editorial. The Business Journal is published every two weeks. It is a tabloid-sized publication covering companies in the San Fernando Valley and surrounding valleys. Hours would be about 15 or so weekly. Schedule is flexible to accommodate demands of school.
Description of internship: The intern would be responsible for reporting and writing articles, including interviewing entrepreneurs and business experts and explaining their business models and products. Most assignments are for short features but there is the opportunity to write longer in-depth pieces depending on skills and the progress made during the term. The intern also might write quick, short stories for the website.
$800 stipend

Part-time, up to 10 hours week during academic semester. Additional hours may be scheduled during summer, interim and break period based on department need and budget availability. Work schedule to be determined by supervisor.
DESCRIPTION
Under supervision of program faculty, the Digital Media Assistant is responsible for writing copy for web, brochures, fliers, signage, and other projects. Assistant ensures that all text is readable, accurate, consistent, and ready for distribution. Assistant also proofs web content, signage, flyers, and various other materials.
PAY RANGE: $9 - $15.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
JOB DUTIES
· Works closely with other members of the department to create new content for JSIP website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, MailChimp newsletter, and flyers.
· Writes creative and effective copy for all assigned materials.
· Attends some JSIP lectures and other special events in order to photograph and write about them.
· Proofreads content to ensure that text is well written, logically structured, professional, accurate, and creative.
o Ensures correct spelling, grammar, consistency.
o Ensures inclusion of basic information.
o Ensures positive, consistent JSIP image
· Creates content for and regularly updates the online events calendar.
· Proofreads and fact-checks online map of Jewish sites in the Valley
· Compiles, writes, and submits information regarding achievements and accomplishments
· Develops and maintains effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students
· Assists with the distribution and posting of marketing materials in the USU, SSU, Residential Halls, and campus
· Handles a variety of general office duties including, but not limited to, copying and answering telephones
· Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION

* Must be a currently enrolled CSUN student
* English or Journalism major or graduate student preferred
* GPA 3.0 or higher
EXPERIENCE
* Previous related experience and/or specialized education required.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
* Must possess a thorough knowledge and appreciation of the English language, grammar, spelling and punctuation
* Ability to communicate effectively in English both in writing and verbally
* Ability to pay close attention to detail
* Basic public relations and journalism knowledge desired
* Willingness to work in a multicultural environment
* Ability to type at least 45 words per minute
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Ability to use PC, as well as MAC platforms
* Creativity in problem solving and an open mind when searching for alternatives
* Ability to maintain high-quality work while meeting tight deadlines
* An understanding of design is a plus
* Ability to tactfully approach others
* Ability to prioritize projects
* Ability to retain the original "voice" after editing
* Ability to research and keep content accurate and consistent
* Ability to take feedback and be open to criticism
SUPERVISION
Supervision is provided by JSIP faculty.
