DOW JONES NEWS FUND
Summer 2017 Internship
Deadline: November 1, 2016

College juniors, seniors and graduate students are invited to apply to the Dow Jones News Fund for paid summer 2017 internships in data journalism, digital media, business reporting and interactive news editing.

The Dow Jones News Fund trains journalists in the newest newsgathering, editing and storytelling technologies. All our programs emphasize emerging media trends and train inters to write for the web, adopt a data state of mind and use social media metrics.

Digital Media Interns will brush up on podcasting, video production plus content management, responsive web design, social media best practices and audience development at Arizona State University in Phoenix. 


Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) will train data journalists at the University of Missouri to work with spreadsheets, databases, software, FOIA requests and apps to unlock stories.

THE WASHINGTON POST
Summer 2017 Internship 
Deadline: October 16, 2016

The Washington Post offers paid summer internships for reporters and videographers; copy editors and multi-platform producers; news and digital designers; graphics reporters and developers; and social media producers.

Eligibility: Must be a college junior, senior or graduate student enrolled in a degree program on October 16, 2016. Must have had at least one professional news media job or internship.

To apply: Complete the online application, and attach all relevant materials, including resume, work samples and autobiographical essay. All work submitted must be in English.
