Hispanic Scholarship Fund 
Position: Manager, Marketing and Communications (Written Content)
Gardena, CA

This scholarship fund empowers Latino families with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete a higher education. The Manager, Marketing & Communications is responsible for all of HSF’s written content, which includes the hands-on creation and execution of HSF’s content initiatives, both externally and internally, ensuring full alignment with HSF’s overall brand and branding protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and consistent articulation of HSF’s desired positioning in the marketplace, throughout the organization.
  • Responsible for drafting and editorial direction of all publications, including, but not limited to, HSF Stories, HSF.net content, and Newsletter copy.
  • As assigned, write and/or edit development content addressing communications and activities with donors, partners, and other HSF supporters.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's Degree in journalism, marketing, communication or public relations 
  • Minimum of 5-7 years' in marketing, writing and content, and communications or public relations

Mentor Program Opportunity February 20-February 24

NPR Next Generation Radio Annenberg School at USC  Students at Cal State schools in greater Los Angeles and the University of Southern California, this one's for you. NPR’s Next Generation Radio is now accepting applications for our non-narrated audio and digital media storytelling project at the Annenberg School at USC March 13-17. Apply by midnight PST Wednesday February 23 https://nextgenradio.wufoo.com/forms/m1hrmmou0vnz2ee/ This program seeks to increase diversity in public media through hands-on training and mentorship. Students get to spend a week with their own professional mentor, working on NPR style audio stories, video, social media and web content. There is no cost to apply or be admitted into the program. (Students pay travel and food expenses though).
