On-Campus Job Opportunity

The University Student Union is seeking to hire a CSUN student for the paid part-time position of Student Public Relations Assistant in our Marketing Department. They are especially interested in journalism majors with a PR emphasis and strong writing skills.

Some of the key duties include:

  • Researchers, writers, edits and distributes press releases, media alerts, intranet updates, brochures, annual reports, and other marketing materials. 
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with campus and community media. 
  • Develops and maintains database of media contacts.
  • Maintains media clip book. 
  • Plays an active role in program marketing, including but not limited to USU, SRC, Oasis Well ness Center, Pride Center and VCR. 
  • Proofs print materials for inclusion of basic information, copy and design errors. 
  • Compiles, writes, and submits information regarding USU achievements as well as staff and board accomplishments.

Mentor Program Opportunity February 20-February 24

NPR Next Generation Radio Annenberg School at USC  Students at Cal State schools in greater Los Angeles and the University of Southern California, this one's for you. NPR’s Next Generation Radio is now accepting applications for our non-narrated audio and digital media storytelling project at the Annenberg School at USC March 13-17. Apply by midnight PST Wednesday February 23 https://nextgenradio.wufoo.com/forms/m1hrmmou0vnz2ee/ This program seeks to increase diversity in public media through hands-on training and mentorship. Students get to spend a week with their own professional mentor, working on NPR style audio stories, video, social media and web content. There is no cost to apply or be admitted into the program. (Students pay travel and food expenses though).
