College juniors, seniors and graduate students are invited to apply to the Dow Jones News Fund for paid summer 2018 internships in data journalism, digital media, business reporting and multi-platform editing.

The Fund's internship programs offer interns a week of advanced training at top universities in data journalism, digital media, business reporting and multi-platform editing before they report to work. During each residency interns are taught the latest news gathering, editing and storytelling technologies. 

Data journalism interns are trained to collect, analyze and visualize data to unlock compelling stories; digital media interns augment their range of reporting skills using video, audio, data and social analytics; business reporters spend a week in New York learning to cover all sectors from Wall Street to personal finance and local companies; and the multi-platform editing interns hone their news judgment, headline writing, copy editing and page design skills.

Mentor Program Opportunity February 20-February 24

NPR Next Generation Radio Annenberg School at USC  Students at Cal State schools in greater Los Angeles and the University of Southern California, this one's for you. NPR’s Next Generation Radio is now accepting applications for our non-narrated audio and digital media storytelling project at the Annenberg School at USC March 13-17. Apply by midnight PST Wednesday February 23 https://nextgenradio.wufoo.com/forms/m1hrmmou0vnz2ee/ This program seeks to increase diversity in public media through hands-on training and mentorship. Students get to spend a week with their own professional mentor, working on NPR style audio stories, video, social media and web content. There is no cost to apply or be admitted into the program. (Students pay travel and food expenses though).
