PMBC is a leading technology PR firm based in Los Angeles, servicing clients across the globe. Acting as an extension of a client's team, PMBC develops and executes results-driven campaigns designed to elevate business profiles, attract investment, establish credibility and increase brand awareness. Areas of expertise include apps, software, ad-tech, fin-tech, consumer electronics and more.
This is an unpaid internship, but one that can and if given the school's approval will transfer for credit. You must have a laptop. Commitment of 3-5 days per week is required for a 4-month (or more) duration. Strong computer skills are required. We would like someone to start as soon as possible. We will consider local candidates and/or candidates in school.

Requirements:
Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or Media-related major
Excellent verbal and written skills
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
Must have a great work ethic and be resourceful
Ability to handle working under tight deadlines with excellent accuracy
Dedication to the position and pride in you work is necessary
Up-to-date on Social Media trends and bloggers is a must
Experience with Photoshop and Microsoft Office and Mac proficient is a plus

Description:
Answering and screening phone calls
Answering and screening emails
Researching new key contacts for all clients
Collating and distributing press kits
Email pitching of all news from clients via phone and email
Brainstorming new pitch ideas for clients
Tracking and scanning all media clips
Beginning to assist in writing press releases and media alerts
Assistance with the creation of media databases and editorial calendars
Assistance with updating the general media database and special interest database
Beginning to build long-term relationships with all media

Mentor Program Opportunity February 20-February 24

NPR Next Generation Radio Annenberg School at USC  Students at Cal State schools in greater Los Angeles and the University of Southern California, this one's for you. NPR’s Next Generation Radio is now accepting applications for our non-narrated audio and digital media storytelling project at the Annenberg School at USC March 13-17. Apply by midnight PST Wednesday February 23 https://nextgenradio.wufoo.com/forms/m1hrmmou0vnz2ee/ This program seeks to increase diversity in public media through hands-on training and mentorship. Students get to spend a week with their own professional mentor, working on NPR style audio stories, video, social media and web content. There is no cost to apply or be admitted into the program. (Students pay travel and food expenses though).
