Description

Pasadena Magazine is seeking Journalism and Communications interns. As a regional magazine, we offer the opportunity to learn about all the aspects of day-to-day  efforts that go into publishing a bi-monthly magazine. Duties Primarily include proofreading/fact-checking, research, writing, and assisting with social media. Work may differ according to interns' skills and interest.

Responsibilities

Work with editorial team to create content for publication. Fact Check, proofread, format, and edit as necessary. Perform related duties as required.

Requirements


  • Must be a college student
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Strong proofreading/copyediting skills 
  • Knowledge of AP style 
  • Familiar with current social media platforms 
  • Ability to multitask, learn quickly and take initiative 
  • Organized, attention to detail
  • Must have own transportation 
  • Must have own laptop 
  • School credit or experience only 
  • At least three-month commitment required, 15/hrs a week 
  • Be prepared to work 1-2 nightly events

NPR Next Generation Radio Annenberg School at USC  Students at Cal State schools in greater Los Angeles and the University of Southern California, this one's for you. NPR’s Next Generation Radio is now accepting applications for our non-narrated audio and digital media storytelling project at the Annenberg School at USC March 13-17. Apply by midnight PST Wednesday February 23 https://nextgenradio.wufoo.com/forms/m1hrmmou0vnz2ee/ This program seeks to increase diversity in public media through hands-on training and mentorship. Students get to spend a week with their own professional mentor, working on NPR style audio stories, video, social media and web content. There is no cost to apply or be admitted into the program. (Students pay travel and food expenses though).
