African Campus is offering an opportunity for students of all levels, including recent graduates to participate in our wildlife and travel media programs . Take this opportunity to travel to Mossel Bay, South Africa to utilize the beautiful environments and incredible wildlife to advance your media skills. They are offering the following programs for 2018: ·            Wildlife Filming: is focused on terrestrial film-making. During this time you start by building your storyline, filming, once filming is complete, you will return to Mossel Bay and edit your film so that by the end of the month you have a 3 to 5 minute film for your CV, submission to film festivals etc. ·            Travel and Wildlife Photojournalism: The program gives students a range of expeditions to be able to write first-hand accounts of the issues or topics; while pairing the photography skills necessary to have a complete story. Third Annual Nation Student Journalism Conference

The Nation magazine is bringing together the next generation of independent journalists to learn more about social movements, their historic and contemporary impact on electoral politics, and how journalists can better cover them. The 2018 Nation Student Journalism Conference 9:00am to 6:00pm, Friday, June 1, 2018 The New School, Theresa Lang Community and Student Center, Arnhold Hall 55 West 13th Street, 2nd floor, NYC Speakers include Katrina vanden Heuvel, Richard Kim, Melissa Harris-Perry, Kai Wright, Sarah Jaffe, Dave Zirin, and many others. The conference is free for all accepted applicants. A small number of travel grants and free housing spots are available. All matriculating undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. Department: Associated Students Sport Clubs Job Title: Matador Sports Network- Producer Position Overview: Oversee MSN operations including but not limited to: filming, editing, reporting, and employee scheduling. LGBT Newspaper, Los Angeles Blade, seeks freelance local Los Angeles story news writers

The Los Angeles Blade is the newspaper of record the the LGBTQ community for Los Angeles Country. They are also sister newspaper of the Washington Blade in DC.  Both newspapers are in print and online at losangelesblade.com and washingtonblade.com. They are recruiting writers who can regularly cover local Los Angeles area LGBT news and who are able to work both on assignment and who are able to scope out original, enterprise news that they then pitch to the editor. You would work with veteran LGBT news editor Karen Ocamb on your articles, Karen will offer her expertise and insight.
