KABC-TV is an ABC owned television station, located in a state-of-the-art facility in Glendale, near Downtown Los Angeles. The station is in the #2 ranked television market in the country. Weekly ABC7 produces over forty-four hours of local news, public affairs, magazine programs and public service campaigns. You will have to observe and participate in the daily work and operations of a major market television station.

Requirements: 
  • Junior or Senior level standing, or a recent graduate within 6 months of graduation date 
  • Knowledge of news software such as ENPS 
  • Working towards a degree in broadcast journalism, communications or television production.
  • Courses are taken in  producing/writing/editing a plus 
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher 
  • experience (employment, internship, club, sports news writing, etc.)
  • experience with MS Office, including Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook 
  • All candidates must be available during the months of September through December for the Fall internship program 
Your Role: 

You will be part of the local sports production involved with the Eyewitness News Sports Department. As the Sports News intern, you may: 
  • attend production meetings and be involved  in the preparation of daily sports shows, segments, and special programming like "Sports Zone"  
  • log and observe sports telecasts and transcribe interviews 
  • research on and contribute to sports news topics 
  • observe how sports segments are written, edited, and delivered on-air 
  • observe production in the newsroom, in-studio, and at remote locations like Dodger Stadium and the Staples Center

NPR Next Generation Radio Annenberg School at USC  Students at Cal State schools in greater Los Angeles and the University of Southern California, this one's for you. NPR’s Next Generation Radio is now accepting applications for our non-narrated audio and digital media storytelling project at the Annenberg School at USC March 13-17. Students get to spend a week with their own professional mentor, working on NPR style audio stories, video, social media and web content. There is no cost to apply or be admitted into the program.
