Publicity Intern – Burbank Television Enterprises

Burbank Television Enterprises LLC. Seeks a Publicity Intern for the WWTVM Communications & Publicity department. The Publicity Internship Program is designed to provide an opportunity to gain knowledge of and exposure to a working studio environment. The Company makes a special effort to provide the support and training needed to prepare interns to succeed in real-time projects and assignments.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist in reading various publications (newspapers and magazines as well as online media/bloggers) for press clippings about WBTV and Warner Horizon shows.

· Collating, copying, filing scripts, answer phones, fax, file and make photocopies.

· Search for and organize press clippings, using various PR tools, such as Cision, Vocus, Critical Mention, etc.

· Attend and assist at various types of publicity functions when schedule permits: press conferences, press set visits, photo shoots, etc.

· Work with written communications department on writing/research assignments as directed, including series and episodic description copy, social media communication, trivia questions and more as needed.

· Perform other related duties/projects as assigned.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Must be currently enrolled in a college or university.

· Prior internship for a media company in a marketing or publicity support role or Advertising Agency experience a plus.

· Proficient in MS Office, entertainment blogs specific to TV and WB destination genres, and social media platforms beyond Twitter and Facebook.

· Good communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills – both verbal and written.

· Strong attention to detail is required.

· Excellent organizational skills.

· Ability to balance, multi-task and prioritize requests and still meet deadlines.

Warner Bros. Studio Facilities seeks a Client Service Coordinator for the Post Production Services-NY department. Our team is dedicated to the craft of sound for motion pictures, television and emerging media with world class facilities in Burbank, New York and London. Our Sound Editors and Re-Recording Mixers have crafted award-winning soundscapes for many acclaimed films, television series and video games.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Coordination of studio spaces and overall client comfort.

· Must be able to work with vendors, oversee upkeep of the studio space, and setting up of client meals.

· Works closely with in-house editors and staff and coordinates duties as needed.

· Performs reception duty, including answering phones, directing calls/taking messages when necessary.

· Maintains log of all incoming and outgoing packages by messenger service, mail, and other sources.

· Welcomes and directs visitors to the facility, ensuring they are expeditiously escorted to correct company representative and not left unattended.

· Conducts basic market research and analysis for post production services in film, television, and advertising industries.

· Assists with in-house project management and provides effective administrative support.

· Orders and maintains inventory of office and kitchen supplies for department. Prior client-facing administrative experience strongly preferred.

· Maintaining absolute discretion and confidentiality is crucial to this role.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Bachelors in Marketing (and/or any statistics) strongly preferred.

· Previous work in (or deep knowledge of) the film and television industries preferred.

· Marketing and analytical market research experience a plus.

Publicity Coordinator

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Warner Bros. Pictures Worldwide Marketing group in New York is seeking a Publicity Coordinator to work on the team. The position provides administrative support to the Sr. Publicist as well as general publicity function supporting the team.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Prior to all screenings, compiles the screening list and distributes to appropriate management. After the screening, compiles reaction memo and circulates to filmmakers and talent.

· Liaises with publicist to see what pieces on various films will be airing and communicates the information to the Project Executive.

· Distributes requests from press outlets to proper publicist on the team or at the Sr. Publicist’s instructions on how to handle.

· Greets clients, talent, creative staff & executives.

· Participates in brainstorming and creative meetings.

Internship Description

Public Relations and Media Relations
* Assist in drafting basic public relations materials including news releases, media alerts, fact sheets, client meeting summaries, status reports and other materials as directed.
* Assist with the development and updating of media lists. Other tasks include database creation involving clients and prospects, data entry and updating additions and corrections.
* Conduct coverage reporting tasks including updating coverage grids, clipping editorial placements and creating coverage reports.
* Assist in updating all PR editorial and pitching calendars.
* Research competitors in magazines, e-mail blasts and news publications.
* Compile updated research on target markets.
* Assist with administrative duties including processing, sorting, collating, stuffing envelopes, mailings and other administrative functions as assigned.

Content Creation
* Research industries, technologies, statistics and story ideas as needed for editorial projects.
* Assist in writing case studies, white papers and byline articles as needed.

Social Media
* Monitor social media trends on blogs and social networking sites.

* Conduct research that would include curating articles, monitoring competitor social activities, monitoring client mentions, etc.
* Compile social media metrics for data reports.

Account Management

Skill Requirements:
* Applicants must have previous marketing, PR or digital agency internship experience OR be a junior, senior or graduate student.
* Applicants must be proficient in Spanish.
* Applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high level of computer competency.
* Applicants should be self-motivated, organized, willing to help with any project no matter how large or small, and able to balance multiple priorities at once.
* High energy and exceptional attention to detail.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Experience with CMS (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, etc.) is a plus.

Description: Paid position available for public relations student with interest and experience in social media creation, news writing, magazine writing and press release development. Position calls for assisting the University Communications staff in content development and copy editing. Applicant must be enrolled full-time as a CSUN student.

Duties:
* Cover on-campus events in multiple formats, including social media and writing post-event story
* Develop articles to be posted and/or featured on CSUN Today that announce, reflect or highlight campus events and accomplishments, faculty and staff news and student accomplishments
* Develop feature stories on subject matter pertaining to students, faculty and alumni for inclusion on CSUN Today

* Copy edit materials to be posted to all university forums

Skills required and developed:
* Strong writing skills in multiple areas, including news, social media, press release and creative writing
