Spring Paid Intern - Entertainment News TMZ


Full Time Paid Internship

TMZ is the leading source for celebrity and entertainment news. They are looking for energetic, motivated students with a passion for celebrity news to join their Spring intern program. As an Intern at TMZ, you will be exposed to the many facets of news gathering, TV production, and digital content creation. Their interns are hands-on and directly contribute to the production process at TMZ. You'll have an opportunity to learn from senior staff and will participate in informative speaker sessions developed specifically for their internship program. This is a chance for the right person to gain broad exposure and grow within a leading entertainment news organization.
TMZ is currently interviewing students for their internship program for SPRING 2018: January 2018 - May 2018. This is a paid program.

Please see below for required criteria - Spring 2018 Interns must meet all 5 criteria below for consideration:

1. Be available for the entire internship session, as outlined above.
2. Be available to work 30 hours per week, in the form of three 10-hour days per week.
3. Be comfortable with a work shift which begins at 6:00AM.
4. Have a demonstrated knowledge of the area(s) of interest as reflected in their field of study, course work and/or professional/internship experiences.
5. Be in their junior or senior year of college.

TMZ NEWS Assignment Desk / Research - Interns in this department will work with the assignment desk staff. Interns will assist with organizational projects, research, calling sources (with prior approval), and other general news-gathering duties.

TMZ SPORTS Assignment Desk / Research - Interns in this department will work with the sports news staff & TMZ Sports show staff. Interns will assist with organizational projects, research, calling sources (with prior approval), and other general sports news-gathering duties.

TooFab.com Assignment Desk / Research - Interns in this department will work with the TooFab.com production staff. Interns will assist with organizational projects, filing, research, calling sources (with prior approval), interviews (with prior approval), creating galleries and other general news gathering duties. Must have an interest in celebrity lifestyle news.

Post-Production Department - Interns in this department will work with the Post-Production team. Duties include logging, creating back up files, show notes and learning various jobs within their post-production department.

Social Media Video Editor - Interns in this position will work with our social media team to create original content for the TMZ and partner brands. Duties will include editing video, performing research for social media use and assisting camera shoots. Must be Adobe Premiere proficient.

Graphic Design - Interns in this department will primarily have a web design background and be familiar with design software, including Adobe suite. Students will work with the TMZ.com art team to create galleries, assets for stories, clip photos from videos that could be used in narrative and possibly assist on projects with their digital sales team.
